How we collect, use and protect your personal information — and the rights you have over it.
Last updated 19 August 2026
The New Zealand Telugu Association (NZTA) is a registered non-profit organisation. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website, and we handle it in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles.
We only collect information we need in order to run our events, memberships and community programmes. Depending on what you choose to do on this site, that may include:
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, process your registration or application, keep you informed about the events and programmes you have asked about, and to meet our record-keeping obligations as a non-profit organisation.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Where a payment is required, it is processed by our payment provider. Card details are entered directly with that provider and are never stored on our systems.
Submissions are stored in a secure, access-controlled database hosted on our behalf. Access is limited to the committee members who need it to carry out their role, and administrative areas of this site require a login.
While no online service can promise absolute security, we take reasonable steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as we are required to keep it for legal and financial record-keeping. After that it is deleted or anonymised.
This site uses a small number of cookies to keep it working correctly and, where enabled, to gather anonymous analytics about how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as expected if you do.
Some pages embed content from third parties such as video or translation services. Those services may set their own cookies and are governed by their own privacy policies.
We often take photographs and video at our events to share with the community. If you would prefer that an image of you or your family is not published, please let us know at the event or contact us afterwards and we will remove it.
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, and to ask us to correct anything that is wrong. You can also ask us to delete information or to stop sending you updates.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can, and within 20 working days.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page along with a revised date.
If you have a question or a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please get in touch at info@nzta.org. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
